4. I am looking forward to going to work today so I don’t have to be at home. I really don’t want to be home.
7. Last year sucked. My uncle was diagnosed with and died from 3 stage 4 cancers. My dad went to jail for molesting my cousin and sister. My sister got married to a very maniplutative man, my mom and most of the family wasn’t invited. My brother did go, but wore everything american flags, even down to his new boxers. My sister isn’t allowed to talk to us anymore. A lot of rumors got spread around and now most of our family and friends won’t talk or look at us. After working fucking hard to get back into the program I love after failing out of it, i failed out again. And despite it all, I didn’t try to kill myself that year

Two of Davis’ three children were present at the time of the shooting. They have now been placed into protective custody during the investigation into what happened, while her eldest is staying with family friends. The two officers involved in the shooting have been put on paid administrative leave.

According to the Washington Post, Davis is one of 776 people fatally shot by police in 2016.

Native Lives and Black lives clearly do not matter in this country. At least not enough for those in power to do something about these tragedies. The horror and the often vile nature of these shootings brings my entire body to a level of anger so great, it’s hard to describe. No more children should have to grieve the deaths of their parents dying this way. No more mothers, fathers, brothers, cousins, grandchildren, etc. should have to lose a member of their family this way. The time is NOW to take action and prevent these actions from continuing. No more tragic deaths at the hands of trigger happy police officers.
